Job Placement Partner
Central Florida CDL School is one of few schools in Central Florida that Melton Trucking recruits directly from. We've seen the training work firsthand — we trained our own son, who now drives for Melton. We treat every student like family, which means the relationship doesn't end at graduation — we follow up and check in to see how you're doing out there.
Why Central Florida CDL School
We're a family-run school, not a franchise counting seats. That means longer hours, real flexibility, and no fine print designed to squeeze more money out of you if life gets in the way.
Many Central Florida CDL programs run a strict daytime schedule and close by mid-afternoon. We stay open into the evening so working students and parents don't have to choose between a paycheck and a CDL.
Job change your hours this week? Kid's got a game? We build your training plan around your actual life and your actual finances — not a template.
No restrictive contracts that force you to repeat the whole course if a tight timeframe or our hours get in the way. If you don't pass your skills test, it's just a small fee to retake it.
We keep tuition below the Central Florida average without cutting corners on instruction — which is exactly how we keep a 100% pass rate.

Beyond The Basics
A license only matters if you know how to actually work as a driver. Every student leaves with skills most CDL programs skip entirely.
Behind-the-wheel time on actual public roads, not just a closed range — so test day feels familiar.
Real-world hazard awareness and defensive driving built specifically for commercial vehicles.
GPS doesn't know your rig's height or weight, and rural roads don't always have signal. We teach real paper-map navigation so you're never stuck.
Hands-on hours-of-service and logbook instruction so you stay compliant from day one on the job.
Proper load securement technique for flatbed work, required to test and required to work safely.
Foundational flatbed operation — trailer inspection, general cargo handling, and load placement basics before you ever tie down a strap.

Questions
Most students complete Class A or Class B training and are ready for their skills test within a few weeks, not months. Your exact timeline depends on the program and how many days a week you can train — we build a schedule around your job and family, so it may take a little longer than a rigid full-time program, but you won't pay extra for the flexibility.
You won't be billed to repeat the whole course. If you don't pass, it's only a small fee to retake the test itself — never a full re-enrollment. We train thoroughly and stand behind our 100% pass rate, so most students never need it.
Yes. We're open 7 days a week, with extended evening hours Monday through Thursday, later than most CDL schools in the area, and we work directly with students to build a training schedule around their current job, family obligations, and finances.
