Getting Started
You'll need to be at least 18 for intrastate driving (21 for interstate), pass a DOT physical, and hold a Commercial Learner's Permit (CLP) before behind-the-wheel training. We walk students through each requirement and the paperwork involved.
Most students are ready for their skills test within a few weeks. Because we build your schedule around your job and family instead of a fixed full-time calendar, your exact timeline depends on how many days a week you can train — and you have up to a full year to complete the program.

Yes. We're licensed by Florida's Commission for Independent Education (CIE) and registered on FMCSA's Training Provider Registry (TPR), the federal registry required of every CDL school under the Entry-Level Driver Training rule.
In most cases, yes. Federal law does not automatically disqualify you from a CDL just because you have a felony conviction — automatic disqualification is limited mainly to offenses that involved using a commercial motor vehicle, plus a small number of specific categories like DUI. Felonies unrelated to driving, such as theft or drug possession not involving a vehicle, typically don't stand in your way. Training itself isn't free, but qualifying students may be able to use WIOA workforce funding, VA education benefits, or state and local grants to cover some or all of tuition. Ask our team to help you check what you might qualify for.
We're a CIE-licensed, TPR-registered training provider, which is the standing most workforce funding programs require a school to hold. Licensing & Testing
ELDT is the federal training standard every new CDL applicant must complete before taking their state skills test, covering both classroom theory and behind-the-wheel instruction. Our curriculum and vehicles are registered on FMCSA's Training Provider Registry to meet this standard.
TPR stands for FMCSA's Training Provider Registry. Federal law has required every CDL training provider to register here since 2022, confirming our curriculum, vehicles, and instructors meet the federal Entry-Level Driver Training standard.
The Commission for Independent Education (CIE) is the Florida agency that licenses private career schools. CIE licensure confirms we meet the state's standards for curriculum, finances, and student protections, and it's the foundation most funding programs look for before approving a school.
Yes — that's our entire focus. Testing takes place at an official state testing site rather than on our premises, so every hour of training is spent making sure you're genuinely road-ready, not just aimed at a pass. That real road time is a big reason our graduates do well once they're out working, including with employer partners like Melton Trucking.
You won't be billed to repeat the whole course. If you don't pass, it's only a small fee to retake the test itself — never a full re-enrollment. We train thoroughly and stand behind our 100% pass rate, so most students never need it.
Federal law does not mandate drug testing during the training phase itself — that requirement applies at the employer level once you're hired to perform safety-sensitive driving for a regulated carrier. Ask us directly about our current enrollment policy if this is a concern for you.
Schedule & Format
We're open 7 days a week, with extended evening hours Monday through Thursday, later than most CDL schools in the area, and we build a training schedule around your current job, family obligations, and finances rather than a fixed daytime-only calendar.
Students who can train more days per week naturally move faster through the program. We don't cut corners to rush anyone through, but we also don't hold students to a slower pace than they're capable of.
Both. Our extended hours — Mon–Thu 9AM–9PM, Fri 9AM–5PM, Sat 8AM–4PM, plus Sunday VIP one-on-one sessions — support students training full-time as well as those fitting training around an existing job, and you have up to a full year to complete the program either way.
Yes. Most of our students are working a job, raising a family, or both while they train, which is exactly why we're open later than most CDL schools in the area and build schedules around your life.
Yes. We offer optional one-on-one coaching sessions (additional cost) for pre-test prep or any skill you'd like extra practice on. Our training is thorough, but everyone learns differently, and some students just want a little more individual attention.
Vehicles & Endorsements
Both. We offer training and testing on manual and automatic transmission trucks. Testing on a manual gives you a CDL valid for either transmission type; testing on an automatic adds a transmission restriction to your license. Ask our team to help you decide which fits your career goals.
Class A training builds the combination-vehicle foundation most endorsements are built on. Ask us about tanker, doubles/triples, and hazmat endorsement options once you're licensed.
Yes. If you're planning to drive a bus or transit route, ask us about adding a passenger (P) endorsement or air brake restriction removal alongside your core Class B training.
Yes. Every student gets flatbed securement training covering proper load tie-down technique, plus broader flatbed training on trailer inspection, cargo handling, and load placement basics.
Career & Recertification
No. Recertification is focused on what's new for a combination vehicle — coupling/uncoupling, backing a tractor-trailer, and the added pre-trip inspection points. You don't relearn skills your Class B already covers.
